Hidan and Kakuzu were thrown under the bus. Both had amazing back stories that weren't given any light on. All the other members of their group were given screen time to justify their turn, but these two were as one dimensional as you can get. The only character that got done worse than this was Sakura (genjutsu talent, but never developed it)
