Nah, Deidara captured Sanbi. Tobi was supposed to capture it, but he was acting like an idiot so Deidara had to do it instead of him.

Most likely Hidan and Kakuzu went after the 7 tails due to the Takigakure symbolism.

Kisame mentioned he's fought several skilled people in Taijutsu so they may have gone for Han. Also it is interesting since between the two groups it adds to 9 both ways.


Itachi, Kisame: 4+5

Kakuzu, Hidan: 2+7

= 9


Doesn't guarantee, but not a bad assumption. Truth be told we do not know.

My guess is Kisame at last 1 of the unknown captures because before he fought Bee he said he was the best at capturing jins. You don't earn that title capturing just 1

It was honestly probably Pain and konan took 5-7...

Deidara, Sasori, Hidan, Kakuzu were all out of it by 3 tails.
Kisame took 4 tails, while sasuke 'took' 8 tails.

That leaves itachi who died after 4... Therefore, only Kisame, konan and zetsu were left to take tailed beasts.

Shukaku-Deidara case closed.
Matatabi-most likely Hidan. Heres why: Hidan was *****ing about not finding his Jinchuriki in the Rescue Gaara arc, and Kakuzu pretty much sat back and let Hidan deal with her, so its likely Nibi was Hidan's target.
Isobu-Tobi's target, actually captured by Deidara.
Son Goku-captured by Kisame.
Kokuo-unknown.
Saiken-unknown in the manga, Nagato in filler.
Chomei-unknown.
Gyuki-unknown originally, later Taka.
Kurama-Itachi, later Nagato.

So that leaves: Kakuzu, Orochimaru, Konan, and Zetsu.
Sasori was originally assigned to Isobu.

Deidara mentions there were 2 prior to Gaara, and theres an extra eye opened inbetween Gaara and Yugitos captures.

Zetsu most likely didn't get assigned a Biju as he was not a normal member of Akatsuki.
Pain likely didnt get involved with the Bijus while acting as the leader.
Which leaves Kakuzu, Orochimaru, and Konan as the ones to capture Utakata, Fuu, and Han.

Whilst there's nothing canon related I always imagined Onoki forfeited Han to the Akatsuki in return of him utilising the Akatsuki so often.

I like to imagine Sasori or Konan captured Fuu. Y'know, to even it out a bit.
