[Theory] whey the moon is falling

So my wife just watched 362 and 363.. I think I know why the moon is falling or maybe this is common knowledge. Okay my original thought it was due to the medo being taken out of the core of moon. But that's not the case. Madara says to obit in anime it will take time to summon the moon. May not have exactly said that but honestly from that point on its like the moon got closer or bigger every time we saw it in the manga. Meaning by summoning was bringing closer to earth. And in by doing so it's now caught in earth's gravity and is going to spiral in.
