Since you can actually do something to help warm you up if it is cold then I would choose Mount Everest but due to the equipment you provided for the Sahara Desert it is a much better choice. If I rationed I could make the 4 days worth of food last a lot longer as I usually do not eat that much anyway. And the compass would allow me to make it back to civilization much easier than just using the sun. It seems to be a much better choice to be trapped in a desert with food and a way to find your way out than to be stranded on top of a mountain with nothing to eat and no way to keep yourself warm after you have exhausted your 10 matches.

Sahara, I can easily consume desert animals like snakes, lizards and foxes. Water is a problem but jucy beetles can take care of that. With a compass I can find nomadic tribesmen who can help me. I can speak at least one of the languages found in those regions

I don't mind warm climates, I am used to the heat at least to some degree.

in mount everest i would have a lot of difficulty to breath , the frost would have an rapid impact on my lungs and instant death probably.

Sahara sounds better, at least there are changes in the atmosphere from day to night.
