1.The third is incapable of battle because he got blasted. And as you read in the newest chapter, edo's don't recover.
2. Yamato is not the problem here. Honestly do you think one would worry about someone like him considering how LONG ago he got taken? The world is about to end from the juubi. They are only worried about surviving and finding weaknesses in order to save the world.
3. They aren't really that important. They were important in their time, but not now. The manga is called naruto! we need to see his character development. Not so much old legendary shinobi. and don't worry, they will get their panels soon enough.
