I have been thinking the same, especially recently. Hashirama and Madara seemed to be very close as children and shared the same goal of peace. However some Senju, most like Hashirama or Tobirama, accidently/purposely killed Izuna aftter peace was formed. Madara misunderstood what happened and was blinded by rage. Therefore he wants to fight Hashirama for revenge.

I suspect Izuna was similar to Tobirama
they all for peace but tend to favor their side a bit more.
So . . .when Hashi became Hokage over Madara .. . Izuna was not really happy about it

I'm not totally convinced ... Your theory might work if what you said about Izuna is true .... Other than that I'm not to sure about it. In this weeks chapter madara said I had 4 brothers maybe now he has three or two or one , we don't know that ... Also madara loved Izuna and madara wanted peace ... Don't you think Izuna wanted peace as well? Just as Tobirama.... That other brother of hashi got killed because of the way he thought ... vengeance is not the key.
