I had a similar thought, and with their climate, it could be near the land of snow also.

Yup...Funny thing is;

Amegakure (雨隠れの里, Amegakure no Sato; Literally meaning "Village Hidden by Rain") is a small, yet highly industrialised hidden village located in an unnamed country.
