They havent shown up yet in the manga, he had a good chance to show them in the bleachers for Naruto vs Boruto but I didn't see them. Or am I missing something?
If the anime is gonna follow the manga they're going to have to somehow retcon these characters out of the picture otherwise there's gonna be lots of inconsistencies. Unless the manga incorperates them which is the rational thing to do.
