where is gai?

Naruto healed him but we still haven't seen any scans of him in manga or in the last Naruto movie. Did the healing not work?

As far as we know - The Healing worked. Whether or not it was temporary, however, remains to be seen. But then, it shouldn't be since Kakashi has his original eye back. Regardless, the reason we have not seen Gai since he was healed is because the Manga is focusing on Naruto and Sasuke duking it out and conversing on the brink of death.
