Now, It would seem that if you have strong yang chakara like the 1st did then you can cut this time to once a day. This is what danzo attempted to do with the eye. However using the ability multiple times seems to damage the eye itself. In addition the eye tech. uses a ton of chakara.
Now this is just speculation but if naruto implanted the eye into himself then he might of been one of the strongest genjitsu users out there. Because he has strong yang chakara, a ton of chakara to spam the ability, and because of him being a uzumaki/kurama's jin. the eye might of had taken a lot less damage because of the massive healing factor.

No. It doesn't say the crow takes ten years but the jutsu itself. KA can only be used once per ten years. Only way to use it more than once per ten years is to use Senju DNA. That is why Shisui is susceptible to the drawback.

KA can only be used once every 10 years. Only if you have Hashirama's DNA can you use it more often.

So unless Shisui has Hasirama's DNA, he can only use it once every 10 years.

Shisui gave one eye to Itachi, died, then Danzo grave robbed him and took the other eye. He never "lost" to Danzo.

Der, my bad I forgot Shisui was in ROOT so undoubtedly he just gave up his eye for the village like Itachi sacrificed everyone for the village.

If he used it on itachi right before death then it takes around 8 years to charge I highly doubt shisui could only use it in that fashion

And it does makes sense. As you said, Itachi had the eyes for about 8-9 years. Shisui simply used the eye a year before. KA takes 10 years to recharge, only exception is when you have Hashirama's chakra.

Timeline:

10 years ago - Shisui uses KA a year before he gives to Itachi.
Now - Itachi uses it on himself.

Still 10 year cooldown.

10 year CD when outside of Shisui's body. Sorry I am under the impression that FOR HIM the technique could be used more often though still sparingly. Any attempt to use the eye OUTSIDE of his body results in 10 year CD unless the process is augmented by Hashirama DNA. I think this is what Kishi is saying. Also isn't Hashirama DNA the answer to everything? lol xd

It's not the first hokages DNA that's needed its his reserves of chakra. Danzo had thie augmented DNA implanted and he still had to wait to use his stolen sharingan. It's most likely because like kakashi he's not a uchiha and it takes a toll on his chakra. In theory shusui only used his ms tech once or twice tops if he had to wait ten years to use it again if he and Itachi were the same age.
