I've read about sensory-type ninjas having good chakra control several times, but is there an actual source for it that I've completely missed or is it just and educated guess? Examples include:

I don't mean to argue for or against it, I just want to know whether I missed something. I remember very well that it was actually stated in regards to medical skills, but sensory? Someone enlighten me please

The thing is, I don't think any Databook, as of now, has covered the "generic" sensing skill that other people apart from Karin have. Karin's skill is unique and has a name but we still don't know clearly about anyone else.

It's both. Naruto said that since he now had mastered SAGE MODE he can sense chakra. To master sage mode you need perfect chakra control and thus the educated guess.
