I wonder how this Ps4.5 thing will turn out. Imo i would have preferred if they didn't do this but who knows what'll happen
As far as the Nintendo NX goes, I don't really know how much they're even looking to try to contend with Sony and Microsoft anymore. The price point of the NX is estimated to be pretty low in comparison ($150 to $200?). And they've had a history of alienating game consumers who are more committed. It's possible that their model will require the tradeoff of quality, which has always been an issue as Nintendo as a publisher as well as its developers have tried to capture the casual market.@bold made me laugh XD
I do think there is some merrit to this though. Take Nintendo for example. Rather than having separate console with different coding, the NX is supposedly a platform (OS) where all Nintendo games will run on. Even when the console generation shifts the OS will just get an upgrade, and the company will put out new hardware.
God knows that none of us want to change consoles like Apple changes Iphones, but I personally think that turning video games more OS united where old games never die is a good thing.
The problem is this seems to be pushing more digital game sales![]()
I blame graphics whoresI wonder how this Ps4.5 thing will turn out. Imo i would have preferred if they didn't do this but who knows what'll happen
Nope... VR technology just opened up a new door in the gaming world. So we will see a major increase over the next few years. Especially with the affordable CPU + GPU power now.PC is going down hill as well. All the games that come out now seem to be crap. Developers focus on graphics instead of story and gameplay nowadays. Also, this newer games are very unoptimized. Look at Dark Souls 3, it's an awesome game. It's a shame i can't enjoy it atm because it's an awfull console port. It runs like crap even on higher end computers. I hope they release a patch to fix this framerate issues.
I haven't really seen even a rumor showing a price point for the NX. The Wii U is still getting bundled at $250As far as the Nintendo NX goes, I don't really know how much they're even looking to try to contend with Sony and Microsoft anymore. I do agree that creating consoles that don't outmode old games is a good direction, but the feasibility may be limited. We'll have to see. It's good that Nintendo's always willing to bite the bullet with these things.![]()
I don't hold much hope in VR imo it's a gimmick that will die out in about a year or soNope... VR technology just opened up a new door in the gaming world. So we will see a major increase over the next few years. Especially with the affordable CPU + GPU power now.
Maybe it's because of VR? But you have a point :lol. At least there will be no PS4 Neo only titles unlike with the New 3ds but that seems like it'll make trouble for certain devs.I blame graphics whores
Even developers hate the idea of a PS4.5
Naw...This is the real deal. Have you check it out yet? It not even gaming wise, I care about..It is what you can do with it outside of gaming. VR Desktop...That is what sold me on it. The ability to be surrounded by several desktops in the VR world!!! You're practiclly in the Matrix right there. VR opened up a whole new way to redefine commication and several other things that wasn't possible 10 years ago due to weak tech power back then.I haven't really seen even a rumor showing a price point for the NX. The Wii U is still getting bundled at $250
I don't think the NX will sell for less than $300
I don't hold much hope in VR imo it's a gimmick that will die out in about a year or sotwo years tops
Most of the rumors are from last summer around E3 time, they were saying $150-$200. And since it's a different kind of system from the Wii U, that does make sense.I haven't really seen even a rumor showing a price point for the NX. The Wii U is still getting bundled at $250

I don't see VR being a thing. Maybe it will be in maybe 10 or 20 years. But today's VR haves severe limitations.Nope... VR technology just opened up a new door in the gaming world. So we will see a major increase over the next few years. Especially with the affordable CPU + GPU power now.
Actually the PS4.5 made me think of the new 3ds. With the new 3ds they don't call some of the games exclusive, but the higher spec games play horribly on the original model. That could very well happen to the PS4Maybe it's because of VR? But you have a point :lol. -__- yeah seeing how even the Wii U costs more than that and some pretty decent chips going into the console (x86) $150-200 just isn't doableMost of the rumors are from last summer around E3 time, they were saying $150-$200. Yeah that's what i'm worried about. Devs could either focus on PS4 Neo and leave the old one in the dust or focus on Vanilla Ps4 and not fully utulize the PS4 Neo.Actually the PS4.5 made me think of the new 3ds. What limitations you speak of? Cuz for the first wave of VR, it doing very well than everybody thought it would. Not mention how there have been soooo many VR tech startups popping up. Then with nvidia pascal, it only gonna get better and better. Somebody just need to figoure how to make VR gloves work flawlessy, then it is a done deal.I don't see VR being a thing. Pokemon and fire emblem doe.SameI love my 3ds. Even when the cycle ends I am keeping mine
The thing is PlayStation wants them to format it for both which is supposedly a pain to do. Ppl want the best graphics they can get so if one console has to suffer, then chances are it will be the older model. If that happens I can see it pissing off a lot of fans. Trying to code for both could even end up cutting into the overall quality of the gamesYeah that's what i'm worried about. Monster Hunter too :scorps:Pokemon and fire emblem doe.
Just sharing what I've read, bro XD Some have even speculated that Nintendo will sell the NX at below-cost since it is kind of an early switch for a new console, and they can't really repeat the Wii U's crappy launch sales and expect to be okay.Actually the PS4.5 made me think of the new 3ds. Technical difficulties include cost and complexity of virtual environment creation. Mental health research difficulties include current inadequacy of standards to specify needed details for virtual environment design. What limitations you speak of? The Wii U failed on multiple levels, but especially marketing. Never saw cost as one of them though. We will just have to wait and see I suppose. The most of thenew consoles should be hitting shelves this year from what is being said by AMD and GameStop COOJust sharing what I've read, bro XD Some have even speculated that Nintendo will sell the NX at below-cost since it is kind of an early switch for a new console, and they can't really repeat the Wii U's crappy launch sales and expect to be okay.

Technical difficulties are disappearing with technological advances, but the mental health research difficulties will take a concerted effort to overcome. Some of this effort will need to be directed at the formation of collaborative projects and standards for how such collaborations should proceed. VR itself is still in testing and it will take a while for it to become a thing. Even with experts available, this process consumes time, and therefore money.
and 4k gaming too. 4k gaming will become more standard in 2019/2020 with the new line of Nvidia GPU after pascal. Right now 4k gaming on PC can only average 30 to 45 FPS...We need 60 FPS at least.VR is the future of gaming, for decades they've been trying to get it to work. I don't think we're too far off from it being cool.
