I was also looking for something similar after DBZ, I refused to acknowledge GT, except for its ending which was cool.

I was a huge fan of DBZ but Naruto is like the holy grail of anime for me.

Yeah, I admit that the story of GT wasn't great, but I liked the music and fights, I was flipping through channel when I found Naruto I think. Then I said "I guess I'll give it a chance." Now I love it!!XD Back then though, I hated Manga because I thought it was easier and more fun to watch the Anime.XD

I was 13 when I started watching the anime and now I'm 15, but almost 16.

I started off watching the dubbed episodes but when I caught up,
I moved on to subbed, and then when I caught up with THAT I read the manga, and then when I caught up with that, I started reading fanfics and dojinshis

well i was^^ and the german version of naruto came out in like 2006 and it sucked the big one... then after i got my own computer in 2009 i also started watching the anime on the internet. and that was a blast to be honest^^ but i still prefer the manga

Don't know where you live, but there are Shippuden dvd boxes with Dutch subtitles and with English subtitles (the Dutch version however is already further ahead than the English subbed ones)

Typical for its genre. The whole Child of the Prophecy thing has been done so many times it gets tiresome at some point. The story is entertaining enough overall, though nothing I would ever take seriously.

I am also planning on buying all the seasons for both parts, minus the filler seasons. I can pretty much watch whatever I want on the Internet, Naruto is the only one I love enough to actually buy.

ENGLISH DUBB?!! Why would you ever buy the English dub? It completely butchers various defining moments and simply doesn't sound good at all. That's just my opinion though.

I took a 2 year break at the beginning of high school because I lost interest for a while, and got back into it junior year and was amazed at how the story progressed and became the fanboy I am now. I feel like I got into Naruto at the right age since I was the same age as the main characters so I feel kinda like I grew up with them. Me taking a break for those 2 years was probably the best thing to boost my interest ironically enough.
