Zetsu has already been inside of Sasuke's body so if anything, he is going to manage to awaken the Rin'negan because of that and not because of the DNA on the sword.

I do know that Zetsu was killed, however, knowing Kishi he could easily use some kind of a 'Sasuke had Senju DNA inside of him because of the Zetsu that was in him a while ago' explanation in order for Sasuke to get the Rin'negan.​

Sasuke's not getting the Rinnegan, because it's not the "true greatness" of the Uchiha, which Madara never attained himself. Not buying the "well he has the Rinnegan now", because that didn't stop him from citing his Sharingan power as his full power.

Not holding my breath for Sasuke getting Rinnegan. A Sage EMS/ elder eye seems more likely. Kishimoto just set up Sasuke as the person who inherits all the god powers.

@Blink. If this is a reply to me; I believe you missed my whole point. I'm not saying he will get the Rin'negan because I, myself, also agree that Sasuke is someone who should keep the Sharingan techniques instead of getting the Rin'negan techniques.

What I'm saying is that if Kishi wishes to give Sasuke the Rin'negan, this is basically the only way right now for him to obtain it.​

I'm not gonna play "fence sitter" in regards to this, though. While I can acknowledge it as a possibility, I have my doubts it'll ever come to pass.

Kishi loves the Uchiha's in my opinion and he would be more on Sasuke's side than Madara's. But this was just a thought you should consider.
