When releasing the Yin seal, does the user use chakra to do it? If so does this chakra come from the seal or from the users chakra (not from seal). If not what unseals the seal? Willpower? Zzz

Was slightly confused at this and what to see what the base has to say.

All seals need chakra to unseal them. otherwise pain would have just needed to look at the jinchuriki to unseal their bijuu Lol

The user gathers their own chakra to release the seal. Being a medical ninja, releasing the seal is nothing. Your chakra barely even flinch (deplete).

I doubt it.
Didn't Naruto also tap into Kyubi's reserves in part 1 when he was fighting Neji while not being able to use chakra because of getting hit by 64 palms?

He was never not able to use chakra. His chakra nodes were just sealed so he couldn't release the chakra, but the chakra was flowing fine within him. What the kyuubi's chakra did was increase the chakra flow rate and forcefully unseal the nodes not unlike how the build up of pressure pops off a champagne cork

Naruto seal is different as it was made to control the Kyuubi's chakra.

no they don't.

If they're able to redirect their chakra flow to a point on their forhead and constantly pour chakra on that point to build the seal. Why would they need chakra to release a seal they build? All they have to do is release the seal mentally. By using chakra they can use the chakra in the seal to release it.

Kidomaru had all of his chakra points blocked yet he was able to use the curse seal to release his chakra points

Chakra is used to make the seal, makes absolutely no sense to use more chakra just to open it. Its the user's chakra in the seal, the user created the seal with their chakra, no more needs to be used to open the seal.

Yes, although I'm sure it's negligible.

No, releasing the seal only requires a mental command.

So the consensus seems to be yes.

Isn't this saying the opposite? You said no, but are saying they use chakra to release the seal. O. O

They have a direct link to their own chakra in the seal. Tsunade uses chakra directly from the seal in her transformation justu. Whatever chakra is used for the opening of the seal in will come from the seal.

By using chakra = they're using the chakra in their seal to release it. Not their regular reserves. To release any seal it takes some ammount of chakra. But they're only using the sealed chakra in their forehead to release it. So technically it is using chakra but at the same time it isn't.

So if all their base chakra was gone or blocked they can still release it

Yes. I assume that the seal is like a chest holding chakra and a little more chakra acts as the key to open the chest.

Yes. But the amount should be relatively small.

I agree that if their base chakra was gone they could in fact release the seal , similar to CM

But if their chakra network were "Blocked" , things would be slightly different.:hint: , in the same way a CM user would be unable to release his seal if his or her network were blocked , its the same for the yin seal.

Kido was instantly taken out of CM2 and kindly noted that he could not channel his chakra , jyuken does not targets seals so kido should still hav been able to channel even a small portion of chakra from the CM since the seal was active , even if he was dying as CM like yin seal is a second source of chakra which is not connected to the chakra network but in the seal themselves.

Take special note that this was done without 64 palms and with wat seems to be a single strike! Post a small chakra infusion.

OT: I think its similar to how it would be for a normal uchiha to activate sharingan , it probably uses a very small amount of chakra to release , or its done with a focused mental connection similar to CM which can be done with almost zero chakra.
