Flying is a pretty huge advantage against an opponent, especially since one can spam shinra tensei airborne and out of danger pretty much.

A full chakra Nagato could probably spam it a few times.....

Besides, he can manipulate gravity by pushing and pulling which can pretty much make him fly.

No wonder he could fly, considering Deva Path's ability is complete control over gravity. It's safe to assume that any Rinnegan user who has access to Deva Path can do so.

this is the most intelligent thing said all day. Pein can only fly with summonings. Deiadara, Sasugay, and itachi are examples too

He can't spam if he has an interval, its like gliding in the air, its not effective and flying with summonings is so much better

Don't think it's flight, just Shinra Tensei. If it was flight, he wouldn't need legs thus no "paths".

As for the intervals of Shinra Tensei, it's not stated if that was because he was controlling the bodies remotely or if it's because that's how the attack works. For all we know, Nagato himself can spam his two gravitional moves endlessly.

Deva is not flying but levitating, what is still an advantage. But spamming Shinra Tensei would be out of his might since this technique is followed by an interval which makes Deva-Path useless. Though Nagatos techniques are faster than Pains, the interval should still be present at least if he's using large scaled Shinra Tenseis. If doing this, Deva-Path is losing its powers for a certain period and doesn't allow Nagato to levitate, since this is based on Deva-Path.
