Naruto kinda told Neji in Part 1 not to follow some crappy "destiny". Yet in Part 2 the old sage toad has been like "You're destined to fight a young dude with power in his eyes!"

Narutos all like "Well if you insist..."

I noticed that, but Naruto never quite accepted that, he was more like: Meh...OK then... If he wasnt Kishimoto would have been bashed hard by the fans
