Karin will probably try to flirt with Gaara and Gaara will be kind of freaked out. It will be very funny to see the contrast between Karin's crazy and obsessive personality and Gaara's calm and mature personality.
(Note that I am not saying there will be a romantic relationship between Gaara and Karin. I am saying this will be a point for comic relief in the next chapter(s).)

It was only stated in the Anime that Karin likes Sasuke's chakra, it didn't happen in the Manga.

Surely she would have 'felt' him at the Chunin Exams? - even if they didn't meet, she would have felt his chakra.
And she liked Naruto's chakra, didn't she? But underneath she felt the evil chakra that was the demon fox, right? Well, I imagine Shukaku's chakra was closer to the surface than Naruto's, more obvious.
But in general, wouldn’t Gaara’s chakra be somewhat in between Naruto’s and Sasuke’s - not completely happy/warm and not chillingly cold like Sasuke?

Meh. But now - on the battlefield, Gaara has no Tailed Beast (To Karin it would be an improvement?) but he is incredibly powerful in his own right, but more importantly - he's charismatic, now possessing a compelling personality that can sway people to his side (ex: ‘… we are shinobi!’ pep-talk).
The latter being a trait I think she’d find very appealing…

But yeah - if she flung herself at him, his face would pretty much be like Sasuke's when she hugged him - wide-eyed, shocked =D
