When did narutos generation become chuunin?

i know that the first chuunin exams were canceled due to oro's attack on the leaf,but when did kiba,sakura,shino and the others become chuunin?Was there a new exam?They went to the final level but since naruto left the village,who was his opponent's opponent?It didn't show in anime but i want to know what u guys think.

There r 2 chunin exams a year and several genins can become chunin in 1 exam

but wouldnt that get mixed up with the other gennins exams?i mean there were just less than 5 more matches and it was over.it doesn't seem fair to start all over again.

A chunin exam is hold once every year, they will probably win in one of those

Shikamaru was the only person to pass when oro attacked Konoha. the others i think they took the exam when naruto was out training with J-Man.
