[Debate] What's your view on legalizing weed?

I just believe that it's illegal for a reason.

So... what is your guys thoughts and opinions and why?​

The way I see it, people take weed anyway except that they pay for it by giving money to criminals. So just like The Prohibition of Alcohol in America in the 1920's, all that's really happening is that organized crime is becoming richer.

I am FOR it, because the organic weed plant only has positive effects. So if the Government sell proper weed from chemists and what not the drug dealers that sell the chemical modified harmful stuff will be going out of business. People purchase weed on a daily basis in lumps of 10's 20's 50's you name it. Now imagine if all of that was being funded to the Government which they can use on things like improving education, houses, roads, travel etc. Rather than making a lazy gang banger some money.

Alchohol is legal but when you drink too much and get drunk you imediatly can't drive because you risk other people s life also if you hurt someone even when your drunk they will punish you weed is not healthy for the brain it casues and destroys short and long term memeory not only that but when you are high you are in a dirty version of yourself meaning you let stuff goo nothing really gets your attention all you do is stare at smth so weed should not be allowed at all people who smoke weed usually tend to become skinner too you know i v had so many health friends now they are so skinny and they smoke it everyday their short memory term is crap and their long is even more crap

I have been a consistent marijuana smoker for 5+ yrs now just because I enjoy it and it helps me relax. It doesnt bother anyone and theres no difference what I do compared to someone who smokes a cig or drink alcohol accept the legality. So for me I would like it to be legal so I dont have to watch my back everytime I have to buy some. Plus there are studies that show it could be positive for cancer and epilepsy patients so why not try and help people too?

Marijuana can be addictive but its not bad for you. Tobacco is way more harmful to your body and much more addictive and yet tobacco and alchohal are completely legal. While on the other hand Cannabis has been proven to help with mental illness and many other debilitating pain you have. I think it should be legalized because the cash crop brings in tons of money that gets taxed so the our government may actually benefit from it instead of allowing it to hinder them by having people buy it under the table from drug dealers.

I don't smoke, nor drink and I'm not completely sure on this, but imho they should legalize it.
Legalization of drugs is a huge way to stop Mafia business and it keeps the criminal rate lower. Look how many people get murdered because of drugs being illegal. Also, I think that they should legalize everything, because if you wan't to take drugs, you will take them. Whether they are legal or not. I think if they prohibit weed, they should also prohibit alcohol, which causes way more deaths than weed. I believe that only one, or not even a single person died of weed, and I haven't heard of much accidents either.
That's just my opinion. ^_^

I smoke it all the time even through college while I got my masters degree so your friends were dumb before they smoked weed.
