Oh, how does it now? Gee, I don't know, perhaps by giving children a great part of the scientific knowledge humanity got? How is that for you?

Realistc my ass. Oh, you're 19, well, tell me how successful are you? Well, then that's a pretty bad school, if it only told you who the mayor is. Or you're a bad student.

Tell me, who do you think that projected and developted the very house you're leaving in right now? The compute you're using? Oh, and what about the doctors that you go to?

Go ask them, I'm pretty sure they have a different opinion. Because you know, all the engineers involved in the construction of hour house needed to study. The programers that developted your computer needed to study. The doctors needed to study.

You wanna know about banking? Well, you could just take an economy course. Because that's very specific.

"This kid..."

Nah, I'm 21. If you had read, I hadn't learned to write a resume until I was 19. Of course, when you're in college, and take it all seriously. Until then you're just studying, pushing and regurgitating info on a piece of paper. And most people learn within the field, more so than the classroom... You're given the information, but is it well retained until you're given experience? Doctor(s) in training learn through internships and the classroom, and the people who've built my house? ALSO learned more within the field and rather not just the classroom.

I'm a criminal justice/political science major and a former Computer Networking major with my A+ & Cisco certifications, so nah, I would say that I'm not a bad student, but a classroom alone doesn't do a damn thing for you.

And yes, I've grown up in an extremely urban area, so education before I went to high school and even after was subpar. So, please, this kid is asking YOU Mr. "Big Ol' Condescending Grown Up" to not insult me for such, you don't know me.

Bold- You say as if people giving you scientific information was something harmful. Let me put it in other words. Until then, you're learning. You're gaining knowledge about many things in the world. History, geography, biology, physics, math. Of course, you can take it as "pushing and regurgitating". But taking a deep look into it, what I said is true, isn't it?

Most people learn within the field? Now, that's pretty false. A doctor wouldn't know how to a thing if he wasn't well instructed by his teachers, in his classes. As for me, I can tell for sure that visiting a construction site without being taught anything will get me nowhere. An engineer can't and shouldn't intervene in any construction without the information that is given... in the classroom.

Oh, you just had to be in human science, didn't you? What's with you? Anyway, if a classroom didn't do anything for you, then speak for yourself, Mr "criminal justice/political science major". I would love to see you going back in time, and not going to ANY class, to see if you would've gotten your A+ certifications.

Without the things there were taught to the professionals, they wouldn't have gotten there in first place. That's reality. And you should know that as well.

I might not know, but I know the whole "the system is flawed" crap. The same that's used most times when people are unable to achieve anything. Just blaim the system, and you're suddently a poor victim. Getting tired of this crap.

Okay, neither of us are gonna change each others' minds here, my only point was to be able to be taught basic knowledge in navigating through the system in life ALONG WITH critical thinking and world knowledge classes. Also, the classroom had a hand, but what is the classroom alone without hands on training? .... Just regurgitated knowledge that doesn't help me if not put into practice.

But the system has been flawed, and is obviously obsolete. We're certainly not at the top of the list for education because our system never evolves...

I don't see how I'm a failure because I don't believe in our system, I came out pretty well when it's all said and done and it came from working within the field.. But hey, your beliefs, and mine's.

Peace be with you... And next time, try not to sound so condescending.

To be fair, the things you mentioned... Are pretty useless to us until we grow up and turn 18. Knowing about banking, writing a resume. Might as well wanna teach them to drive in regular schools.
Some specific things regarding the burocracy of our society is not needed for the whole time when you're in school. And you get to learn many of those things in college, so....

Well, perhaps the idea of a subject "burocracy" in the last year of high school wouldn't so bad.

I never said the system was perfect now, did I? But you mentioned only one thing that is barely a flaw. And to be honest, the educational system is working fine. I don't know what kind of problem your country faces, so I can't tell.

I wanst targeting you, specifically. This "blaiming the system" thing is pretty common in here, mostly used when you're a big failure and want to pretend to be a victim so that blind moralists will support you. I see this everyday. Can't blame me for judging this kind of comment.
Mine are not beliefs. They are facts. No doctor, no engineer, no lawyer, can just go "to the field" and do his job without being well taught in college.

Not condescending(already explained the system thing). But I expected you to pull either the condescending or the conservative card. I'm telling you, what's with you, human science, people?

We kinda are taught to drive. xD at 16..... Licenses come at 17, well into our Junior year in High school, and children should actually be taught about their current government and bureaucracy, since most are still in High School when they're able to vote and such. I don't believe in our system of education because it's pretty much a method of slow desensitization, smart enough to use the machine but complacent enough not to question how and what makes it work. That's our system pretty much. And there's successful people who've thought outside the box rather than continue on an education, which makes me think a bit. Is all this schooling necessary to achieve a well lived life? ...... Well, not in America anymore. Pretty much you're chained to your debts for the rest of your life (I'm soooooo looking forward to it xD) But yeah, if we're old enough to do such things then, at such a young age, why can't we be taught such other things that becomes critical within months of actually graduating?

But us human science people take offense to those who completely shoot down another's thought or opinion, without looking at their points, we (Well I) don't attack anyone's points, rather I try to take a stand on their side of the fence and actually think on their points while stating mine's. I try not to take a condescending tone and just talk. I enjoy conversation, I hate conflict.

I'm starting my senior year of high school this fall, but I currently have 3.95 GPA (unweighted.) Haven't taken SAT yet.
