it all depends on the anime, but the concept of anime itself entices me to watch any kind, anime allows the creators to render images that would normally be impossible for a human to act it out giving it more life in the term, so i can say that the uniqueness of anime itself is what I enjoy

Anime gives us readers a chance to temporarily get away from the boringness of reality. To be able to read and visualize still shots as art. I wouldnt say it gives us something else to believe in, or that the things are possible. Just that it makes our imaginations go crazy, makes our brain work through intense scenes, twist and turns in the story line make anime great. There is nothing like it.

Characters - If an anime doesn't have great characters then I will end up losing interest. No matter how boring an anime is, as long as the characters are interesting I will watch it.
