I personally like the late 50's the best because I love Elvis Presley, but what's your favorite era?

Also, I can't stand most modern day music. All of this mainstream pop and rap is garbage. Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, One Direction, etc. are all unoriginal and will be forgotten in the next 5 years like the Backstreet Boys and Jonas Brothers.
I just wanted to throw this opinion in here because I have a strong passion of hate and disappointed for modern music.

So what's your favorite era?

I agree with him. When growing up I always listened only to pop and hip pop. But, now I listen a little bit of rock, spanish music, and even classical music. Whatever sounds good is good to me.

00's THe metal/rock was pretty sweet ( Lamb of god, A7X, early Linkin Park)

early 90's were sweet ( Alice in Chains, black album Metallica, Pantera, Grunge in general)

In the case of the current era, you gatta dig REALLY REALLY deep.(at least the mainstream stuff that is)(in my opinion)(talking about recent stuff)(and Im speaking about my tastes, and just how horrid pop is these last few years. I swear I can hear the same beat every other song, if i try to listen to pop)(if you enjoy the stuff then good for you. We all have different tastes in music.)

I personally havent settled on a music era yet, because im still expanding my library, and tastes.

I like most forms of music, with the exception of heavy metal, screamo etc. I generally like upbeat sounding songs.

Currently I would say im 60's-80's. (mostly stuff in 60's and 70's) I havent made much progress in listening to 50's and below.

I would like to expand more into traditional oreintal music, classical music, folk, and maybe a bit of country.(I got a pretty good grasp on other genres.)

Kendrick Lamar, so now. 90's Hip Hop was good Nas, Biggie, Pac, Jay Z, Snoop, Ice, Dre, and Eminem (Late 90s Early 00s). But there's still great music in this generation.

80s, simply because so many genres spawned during that era or were prominent.
Hardcore Punk, Thrash Metal, Death Metal, 1st wave (and eventually 2nd wave) black metal, grindcore, hip-hop etc.
