I remember watching serial experiments lain with my older sister when I was little. And although I did not really understand it back then, I did like it a lot, especially the animation style.
Slayers, Saber Marionette J, Iria, Love Hina, Armitage and a smattering of others are my favorite anime, and still hold up imo. Can't get away from hand-drawn style.
OT Idk.. Sailor Moon?
Pokemon was too flashy for my eyes and I didn't really watch it.
Actually until Naruto nothing catched my attention, and that was way after it started.
And another one from the 2000's was Kaleido Star, very girlish and nice.
Pokémon, Digimon, Trigun, Medabots, DBZ obviously, Yu Yu Hakusho. If Yugioh was from the 90's? Then that. I'd have to see a list of 90's Anime to really know?
DB, DBZ, Berserk, Cowboy Bebop, Rurouni Kenshin, Pokemon, Digimon. I guess I could count One Piece and Naruto as well, even though I didn't watch them until '02.-'03.
Oh the 90's, how I miss you at times:
R.Kenshin: I loved Kenshin from the first ep and still have the manga.
Sailor Moon: The anime that got many a girl into anime!
DBZ: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Trigun: We need more cowboy anime!
Cowboy Beboop: This anime really showed that anime could cross lines and hit a note with anyone.
- YuYu Hakusho
- Rurouni Kenshin
- Berzerk
- Dragon Ball GT (Yeah GT, which is hated on for no logical reason except not liking Pan and the return of the classic adventures in the search of the Dragon Balls.)
- Trigun
