What's the difference between windows 8 and windows 8.1?

I just updated to windows 8.1 and the only difference I'm seeing is that it now has a start button on the task bar something it should've had from the start...

That's all the update added to my knowledge. There apparently was an outcry because they removed the start bar in favor of a more tablet based theme,and people didn't really like it...

one of their programmers screwd up and deleted a couple revision of their software, going back around 6 months of updates and making the OS faster and more stable but lacking the start button which they worked so hard to remove. so they rereleased it as an "update". microsoft should listen to the old yiddish saying, "is broken, because someone tried to fix it".
