if you think about it, Naruto is really a story about kakashi's eye. The eye story has gone full circle the series will end

I could see more manga or anime spin-offs that aren't done by Kishi, like the current Rock Lee manga that was also an anime.
Regardless of whether fans like the current plot direction, there is a lot of potential material just lying there, waiting for someone to generate more $ with it.
