In early part two there had to be an event in which Sakura utterly beats down Naruto showing that she is improved and she is much better than Naruto.(Lets say Naruto was affected by a strong genjutsu like Itachi's and had a 1 v 1 against sakura where she beats him to a pulp to save him).This would make Naruto understand how little he had accomplish during those 3 years.I think the scene he had with sasuke was too short and stupid to make him realize that.And also this would give the solo king Itachi a new feat for his genjutsu
