Whats another way to defeat a tailed beast without sealing it?

All the times i've seen the tailed beasts defeated its always been by sealing but is there any other way to beat it?

Killing the host. Like if you kill Naruto then the tailed Beast will die as well.

Well, the 3rd Raikage was appearently able to tire the 8tails out until it's limit. So, they can be defeated by brute force
