Whatever happened to Rin?

I was just wondering whatever happened to Kakashi's other team-mate Rin? I dont remember if the manga ever said as it was mostly concentrated on kakashi and Obito.

I'm pretty sure she died. If i remember correctly Kakashi was at the memorial rock for all the fallen ninja and he said something like "Sorry Obito, I couldn't even protect Rin." And then Kakashi said to Sasuke something about all his friends being dead. Rin being one of those friends I'm assuming. And couple that with his statement about not being able to protect her...

It really happened around the time of the war, cuz when Kakakshi died in the fight against Pain, he got reunited with his sensei and former team members. It was showed Rin hadnt aged at all since the Kakashi Gaiden chapters/episodes, which makes me thInk she died during war or a little bit later.

He also said when he died that he could finally be reunited with the three and you will only say that when the person is dead and you know it for sure.

Won't it be rad if Rin actually died during the Kyubi attack on the village xD It would actually explain in a way why Kakashi ditched little Naruto, maybe he had an internal conflict with it, seeing his sensei's son as the vessel for the thing that murdered his precious Rin u.u
