What would've happened if the Akatsuki attacked Konoha with Pain?

I don't even remember seeing the elders fight once aside from helping Hiruzen out during the Kyuubi attack.So they're a non factor here.

Danzo with Kotoamatsukami and Izanagi would provide some challenge.

Itachi, Obito and Nagato would have known his tactics tho.

Since Itachi and Obito know about Izanagi and Kotoamatsukami they would target Danzo first and make him use up both.

I don't really see how this is debatable. Pain singlehandedly wrecked the village and would've won against Naruto if not for the countless plot conveniences on the latter's side, so having even one Akatsuki member would probably change the outcome, let alone the whole organization...

There are two reasons for that.

One is that most of the villages barring the Sand,Cloud,Mist(their bijuu was released at the time),and Leaf had willingly given up their jinchuriki to the Akatsuki.

The other reason is quite simply,a smaller but effective team can get the job done.Akatsuki only wanted the bijuu and not to start wars with the villages.
