Hamura Ōtsutsuki! Seriously, what's the point of him? Why would Kishimoto throw in a brother to the Sage, yet not add anything to the story with him?

It went from the Sage fighting and beating the Juubi, to the Sage and his brother fighting and beating the Juubi. There was no point in adding Hamura, unless there's still some backstory that hasn't yet been said.
