Gohan was never set up to defeat Buu.. It was NEVER gonna happen... even before the "threat calls" (which i believe are false information). But yea.

1. Akira was not gonna change the Character he brought up to be "Mr.Universe".. and make him Weaker then his Son who is Half human..

2. Akira probably knows it would have been a BAD move. Due to people started watching Dbz because of Goku.. And also Gohan didn't have the same Charisma as Goku to be the main character.

3. Gohan got the Torch handed to him in the Cell Sage in which GOHAN was the MAIN CHARACTER. BUT the Buu Saga was made to Get the Main character spot back to Goku.


Yea I know Akira likes Gohan as his favorite character. But it would have been a bad Franchise move.
