Useless!! He was half the part needed to finish off Kaguya.

He was basically a plot fodder in that fight. Deny it all you want he was stopped every time he tried to make an attack which his most remarkable feat is using his Amaterasu and breaking through the ice. Yes Sasuke was needed in the fight because he had the Moon Seal but he was pathetic the whole fight. Naruto was the one that was shining in the Kaguya fight. His ulterior motive was to fight Naruto and by his sloppy style of fighting contrary to what he did against Madara you can clearly see she thought of Sasuke as a joke.

@OT- Shunshin & Ameno seem like the intuitive options but it looks the nearest wall is ~60-140 meters from where they're floating on and it's covered in lava. GG

Amaterasu seems like the best choice but then it leaves Sasuke falling to his demise unless he can Ameno into a safe spot or Obito (unconscious during the time) springs up and Kamui swaps.

Really don't he has multiple options. Ameno/Shuishin and Wall Slide, Summon Aoda as a foothold sacrifice, summon a wire kunai from his wrist constraints, or even propel himself with fireball jutsu, to hit a wall or stand somewhere. To deal with BZ, he clearly had chakra to Amaterasu, as he did it soon after. He could have used genjutsu, or even chidori nagashi, to get released. At the very least, he could've activated a susanoo arm. As far as a foothold, he didn't have many options at the time as his Rinnegan was restricted, so it's either sacrifice, or death, not that Aoda is very useful when he has the multi headed dog, and the ryuuchi cave at his call.
