It's fanfic to assume the yata mirror and totsuka blade aren't part of itachi's susano, orochimaru and kabuto knew just about everything in the world and how to find it even things that others thought didnt exist or we're myths yet neither one could find these weapons. He wouldn't be using it to same extent he did as when we first saw him use it in the manga. He had no time to train or get used to them or know what it could do.
