An awesome move by SP would be to actually kill off Sumire. In this episode and all the past ones we see Boruto having the same I'll save everyone mentality that his father has & talk no jutsu is inevitable in the next episode

It would be awesome if it was a red herring, Tnj won't be effective and Mitsuki does end up killing Sumire. That would dead split the path Boruto walks from Narutos even more. & it'd be more build up to the flash forward Boruto whose completely calm amongst a annihilated village and taunt of his fathers death if Naruto really was killed off.

Or is it too soon for Boruto to fail and know death? Early trauma would also support the Sasuke side of his character.
