Just do the simple things, play sports, swimming laps, ride your bike around if you have one go for a jog, these things work many areas of your body at once, doing push ups and sit up eventually become ineffective. Of course eat nutritious food and drink lots of water, the simple natural things are most affective.

Yeah you have a point. For me at least it seemed like after a while I could do so many push ups and it felt like I did nothing, but then again I didn't try to many different kinds.

I never do normal push ups, they are way too easy. I can go on forever lol. Try harder more intense ones like diamond push ups, they really work your tri's

It all depends on what you want. Ask yourself...

Do you want to build muscle mass?
Do you want to lose weight?
Do want to tone your body?
Do you want to increase stamina?

Once you have chosen what you want, you then build up your routine accordingly. Including training and very importantly diet.

Before you even start picking up weights and training make sure you eat right. To build muscle mass you should be packing on the Carbs and Protein like crazy, 4-6 meals a day. Of course to lose weight you should be decreasing this etc.

To build muscle mass:

Less reps with more weights. Vary your exercises.

For toning:

More reps lighter weights.

Stamina:

Ride a bicycle, Treadmill, Run, Swim

For me to prevent writing a wall of text, just ask me what type of exercises should be done for each group.

I jog and don't tend to eat much anyway. Simple really.

Haven't been in the gym for ages, but I recommand a lot of Cardio. At 60-70% of your max heart rate your body will use fat as fuel, below that is carbohydrates and above it takes your muscles (if I remember correctly).
Eat low fat and several small portions instead of breakfast, lunch and dinner, it will keep your metabolism up.

Swimming, Running with incline, Cycling Rowing(!) are all good cardio workouts and easy to do. Of course you can throw in Bench Press, Squads, Dumbells etc, but the bast way to get rid of fat is by doing long cardio work outs.

Also remember to take anough time to rest, depending on the intensity of your training. Training will break down your muscles and the rest time allows your body to rebuild the broken down muscles, plus a bit more.

What do I do you say?

I jog three miles a day, then sprint about fourty yards three times, since I actually like doing 40s.
I don't lift, as I just do core exercises. 200 sit ups, 60 push ups, 15 pull ups, 1 minute of scissors, and 100 free form squats.
Then stretch for 10 minutes.

Muscle>>>Cardio man.

Am I supposed to be scared of some guy on a forum with Soulja Boy as his avatar?

Not too sure about you, but I don't do that "Yeah I'm a tough guy on the internet, fight meh" shit.

Bro. I am a tough guy, fight me! I realize since I am on the internet and there is really no way for you too find me, I will just say fight me anytime and pretend too be a bad ass!
