We're all anxiously awaiting the ultimate genjutsu that will cast the world in a dream, but what will its release and effect take the form of? The preview for the upcoming chapter states "the nightmare blooms" indicating perhaps it will take on a large blossom or a panoramic kaleidescope dimension. I'm sure for all of those under its spell everything will appear to be normal and peaceful while Naruto and Sasuke whom I'm sure will be able to resist it, at least to an extent will see it as the former.
Kishimoto from what I understand stated he was inspired by the matrix and several other fictional mediums.
If I remember right, Smith stated the first matrix, which encompassed Madara's dream of everyone being happy was a disaster because conflict was the human condition, thus countless went insane and killed each other, themselves or just went brain dead. What if this were to happen to the alliance? How would Naruto and Sasuke be able to counter it and save everyone? I would imagine Sasuke would have to have a battle of MS and Six path techniques with Madara possibly to distract him while Naruto attempts to use Ninshuu or his cloak to spread his chakra to everyone and break its hold on them, though it would leave him weakened.
