Ok, so we all know that Itachi was supposed to be heading towards Kabuto's hideout. Kabuto is too much of a slithering snakey bastard to face Itachi himself.
Even Orochimaru feared Itachi's abilities, so I figure Kabutomaru wouldn't want to bother with him himself.
He has mentioned something, that jutsu, but I doubt we'll get to see it this early in the manga. Because he'll most probably survive his clash with Edo Itachi, releasing Edo Tensei and carrying on to be the next boss antagonist.
The reason I'm saying this is because we don't know zilch about Kabutomaru yet. There is still so much to be revealed about him.
The current main antagonist, Tobi, will die in this arc, Kabutomaru will carry on to be the next and then, most possibly Sasuke.
This has been the pattern of Kishimoto since the beginning.
He crippled Orochimaru, then introduced Akatsuki, he killed off Nagato, then introduced Tobi as the main villain.
Now, I believe Tobi is going down and the stage will be cleared for Kabutomaru.
And Sasuke, as usual, will be stocked away in the background, until the time is right.
So, back to Kabutomaru:
Most probably, he will summon an Edo.
But it's clear that he doesn't have any live sacrifices to summon someone new.
He states it himself, in the page above.
Plus, I doubt he has another trump card, like Madara, that he can summon against Edo Itachi and hope for him/her to win.
So, remember how Kabuto summoned Deidara back from his clash with Oonoki?
I'm beginning to think he's going to do the same with Edo Madara.
Although Itachi is one of the most skilled ninja's in infiltration, so is Kabuto.
He must have snakes guarding his hideout, a barrier of some sorts or any other technique that'll let him know if his hideout has been infiltrated.
I'm not putting in account that Kabuto can probably know where Itachi is because of Edo Tensei. Because that isn't certain, after Itachi overwrote his talisman with Kotoamatsukami. But if he is capable of doing so, it'd just be the icing on the cake.
I'm leaning towards this theory, because seeing that Kabuto has no other trump cards (other than that jutsu) and knowing his character, he wouldn't want to face him on his own, summoning Edo Madara seems like the most logical choice.
Just my two pennies' worth.
Thanks for reading!
