There's always an anime that just completely takes over the base. These were the 3 from past years. But what about this year?

2012 - Sword Art Online

2013 - Attack on Titan

2014 - Tokyo Ghoul / Akame ga Kill / Terra Formars

2015 - ?

I'm not gonna waste my time with a manga that has like two chapters a year and is in constant hiatus, and will probably never finish( maybe if it ever ends. And Vagabond doesn't interest me, read the plot but didn't appealed to me.

Calm down there, Both Berserk and Vagabond have over 300 chapters, There are Vagabond chapters every month, same as akame ga kill.
