Definition:
Hyperventilation or overbreathing is the state of breathing faster or deeper than normal, Stress or anxiety commonly are causes of hyperventilation; this is known as hyperventilation syndrome. Hyperventilation can also be brought about voluntarily, by taking many deep breaths in rapid succession.

This is when he was in the Land Of Iron.

What was the main thing that caused Naruto to do such a thing to himself? Who is to blame? And how does this affect the future?

(Also I believe Sasuke did the same thing on Itachi's death when he saw Obito.)

Well his village was re-modeled

Raikage said F*** You about Sasuke

Gaara commented about Gaara/ attack on Kage summit

Obito dropped by with a hate revelation

Sakura lied to his face

Sai tells Naruto they go to kill Sasuke

All of that together didn't help...I honestly don't remember which of these were before or after it, but these are all the stresses that happened basically at the same time. Also each of them are stressful so the fsct he took almost all of them at once was impressive, bit to no avail.
