What was Obito thinking attacking Konoha?

He literally was attacking his dead girlfriend's village, her family if her family was still alive, and his own clan (which, logically speaking, maybe he had some Uchiha cousins he didn't know about.) So, did Obito go full R-tard that night?

I just see it as contradictory for him to love Rin and destroy her village at the same time, same thing with him wearing the Uchiha crest on his back and try to kill them at the same time.
