What was Gaara planning to do vs Muu??

Muu was telling Onoki to call for Gaara, because Onoki wouldnt be able to survive alone for long, without Gaara's sensory skills.
Muu was about to fire a jinton on Onoki (who's back cracked).
Gaara flew in between them to protect Onoki but what was he planning to do?
Blocking jinton with the sand? Not possible right?

I find it a bit of a bummer that Naruto jumped in.
I wanted to see what Gaara could do vs a jinton user.

So what was Gaara planning to do you think?
Block with the sand?
Grab Muu in time with the sand (if possible) to stop the jutsu from being fired?
Something else?

Offtopic: Muu is so boss, firing Jinton from stealth and staying in stealth or restealthing again, before getting spotted. Bummer that he got sealed so fast.

Muu got trolled. He was Soloing both and the Plot King Naruto just so happens to appear.

He would have let his sand take the hit and try to provide support for Onoki. No way was he thinking he could solo Muu, but with his sensory abilities and defense he'd be good backup for Onoki.

That's because Gaara can spread sand particles across a large area. So, if Mu used his invisibility he would still be able to find his location by using contact method sensing through his sand as soon as he saw an humanoid shaped silhouette flying among it. That's the same method he used to locate the Mizukage's clam.
If Naruto hadn't come, Gaara would indeed be Onoki's best chance against Mu's invisibility.
