I think the tablet tells the history of the uchiha clan, but also will tell why Madara attacked Konoha. It's probably part of Madara's plan, since it was "passed down in the Uchiha clan" and Madara was referred to as "the founder". With EMS one can probably see the history of Konoha as a wartorn state, with Madara putting his own spin on it. Hashirama betrayed him, isn't the rightful rulers and the Senju broke the peace treaty. They disgraced Uchiha and pinned it all on him.
Sasuke buys it hook, line and sinker. Sasuke only cares about his clan. Madara encoded it to be viewable by EMS only, reasoning that anyone with EMS would be someone like him: proud, ruthless and vain. So Sasuke will join Madara, after dealing with Orochimaru. Sasuke takes the tablet to the elders, who deny nothing and demand he submit himself for arrest as a terrorist.
Sasuke easily kills both elders and then re-seals Orochimaru. Elders become Edo corpses under Sasuke's command. The three leave Konoha after Sasuke kills Konohamaru and a handful of other survivors, making them Edo corpses.
BACK AT THE MAIN BATTLE
Shikaku's plan goes into effect after Obito mocks Naruto and prepares to kill Kakashi finally. Shikamaru steps in with Nara clan members and temporarily start holding the Juubi. Choji and his clan grab the tails and start pinning the beast. Ino transfers her mind into Madara successfully, but is quickly overwhelmed by his evil chakra. Ino is brutally tortured to death mentally via genjutsu, but buys time
Guy opens the 8th Gate of Death and kicks Madara off the Juubi, intent on avenging Neji and saving Kakashi. Naruto uses mass Shadow Clones and starts using Nature transformation to absorb the 10 tails. It appears to be working. Obito moves to enter the combat, seeing Madara being overwhelmed (the plan is to seal Madara first and deal with obito after). Kakashi intercepts Obito and they fight it out in his inner subspace. As Kakashi appears on the verge of defeating Obito (telling Obito that if he goes back to the real world here, he will die due to explosions around Juubi) Obito reveals that he did most of this for Kakashi, and knows Madara was lying about Rin but had given up on reality. As Obito lays dying, he gives Kakashi his other eye. He tells Kakashi he is glad they were able to see the future together.
Back in the real world, Madara is in the process of getting sealed when Sasuke arrives over the hill. Sakura is shot immediately through the heart with Chidori Senbon and dies. Sasuke follows this up by having his new Edo army attack the sealing squad, barely saving Madara in time from sheer odds of hundreds vs only him. The 10 tails starts to charge blindly as Naruto's concentration is broken and the shadow clones are all knocked away. The situation appearing hopeless again, Sasuke comments on true despair and reveals the scroll:
The scroll was the method the S06P used to seal the Juubi in himself. The scroll was in case it ever came back. The 10 tails is sealed inside Sasuke, who opens his eyes to reveal Rinnegan in both eyes. Naruto rushes to Sakura's side, and sees that she is already dead. He looks up and sees himself being attacked by Edo Konohamaru.
Sasuke coldly comments "Our promise ends with this."
