It was to build up hype to completely surprise us with the fact that Sasuke gets killed.
It's just like with Madara gaining all that power and being all hyped up so that we wouldn't
see him being one-shot like that coming. I'm not gonna say whether that's good writing or not
but it seems to be Kishi's style.
