From what I know, dark matter is unseen matter that has some gravitational effect on visible matter or something like that. Scientists say it accounts for most of the universe. Antimatter have antiparticles which have an opposite charge than particles of matter but same mass. This is really all I can tell you since I haven't looked into it much.

I gave up on science lol. The dark matter as the antimatter sounds logical to me from a certain point of view.

In layman's terms, dark matter is what encompasses the majority of the universe. It can't be detected but its effect can be, similar to how you cannot see a black hole but you know it is there by its effect on other objects. Antimatter on the other hand is the opposite of matter. Think of it like negative and positive charges respectively. When matter and antimatter collide, energy proportional to their mass is released. It is speculated that there exists sections of the universe where are filled with more antimatter than matter because most of what we observe on Earth is matter instead of a mixture of the two.

dark matter cant be seen and comprises most of the universe.
when you look in space, see everything black right, thats what scientist claim to be dark matter.!!

anti matter is just complete opposite of matter.
when they combine create huge explosions.!!

dark matter is what physics considers as present in the space , which has concentration of huge mass hence can push things creating a force that kindof ... runs the universe , you need to ready the theory of relativity a bit more carefully to get a good grasp for it .

(dont recall much but) anti matter is by what generally is believed is the exact opposite of matter , like even atoms have some mass and posses energy , anti matter on the other end is considered to be having no mass but lot of energy. its like having the opposite of protons (dont say electrons) .... i mean in terms of mass.

to me they are both attempts to explain the outer force that tends to keep things in place like the planetary orbits and expansion of the universe..... quite interesting stuff !!

which also brings me to the question .......... why the hell are you asking a physics question on a animie (NarutoBase) forum O_O ???

This is a good explanation.^^^

"Dark Matter" is a bogeyman of cosmology. While looking at numerous galaxies, scientists have noted that the mass necessary to hold the galaxy together is simply not present in its visible mass... by an astronomical amount (almost 85% of the mass in the universe should be dark matter). Deepening the mystery, further, "Dark Matter" appears to orient itself differently depending upon the galaxy - our galaxy should have a roughly spherical distribution of dark matter to 'make it work' within the known laws of the universe.

This is why, when those of a "scientific mind" like to argue against God - I simply mention "Dark Matter" - because any rational mind would assume that 'Dark Matter' is an artifact of an incomplete physical model of the forces working at galactic scales.... rather than a material that cannot be directly detected and seems to assume various shapes and distributions because 'it just does.'

But the hand of God takes many forms.

Anti-Matter can be directly observed - and has been created.

It's a little more difficult to describe - other than it is 'matter' that has had its quarks and/or gluons restructured in a way that will cause a release of energy when matter and antimatter combine.

In all other respects - it shouldn't behave too terribly differently from normal matter... though so little of it has been created for us to observe.

That probably because it would cost, like trillions of dollars (or some shi*t like that) to make a few grams of it.

Dark is matter is hypthesized to be the amjority of the universe... undetectable to our eyes.... if i told you how they found out about it you would laugh....

most likely doesnt exist... they did an expariment on this recently... every news station was covering it but the results never surfaced...

anti matter, dont remember too much they are made from antiparticles which have an opposite charge and spin in comparison to their counter parts they come together to form anti*chemicals*

Well... it's not really a matter of cost but one of ability.

The LHC, under normal operation, would produce about one gram of antihydrogen after 100 billion years of operation.

Even if we were to stumble into a grand unified theory that allowed us to increase our efficiency in generating antimatter from particle collisions... it would take a much larger facility to even begin to touch tangible quantities.

We'd be better off trying to harvest antimatter from the corona of the sun or the ring of antimatter that surrounds our planet (it's a very thin one, mind you).

the total mass–energy of the universe contains 4.9% ordinary matter, 26.8% dark matter and 68.3% dark energy. Thus, dark matter is estimated to constitute 84.5% of the total matter in the universe.[5]

dark energy is a hypothetical form of energy that permeates all of space and tends to accelerate the expansion of the universe

In particle physics, antimatter is material composed of antiparticles, which have the same mass as particles of ordinary matter but have opposite charge and quantum spin. Antiparticles bind with each other to form antimatter in the same way that normal particles bind to form normal matter. For example, a positron (the antiparticle of the electron, with symbol e+) and an antiproton (symbol p) can form an antihydrogen atom. Furthermore, mixing matter and antimatter can lead to the annihilation of both, in the same way that mixing antiparticles and particles does, thus giving rise to high-energy photons (gamma rays) or other particle–antiparticle pairs. The end result of antimatter meeting matter is a release of energy proportional to the mass as the mass-energy equivalence equation, E=mc2 shows.

There is considerable speculation as to why the observable universe is apparently composed almost entirely of matter (as opposed to a mixture of matter and antimatter), whether there exist other places that are almost entirely composed of antimatter instead, and what sorts of technology might be possible if antimatter could be harnessed. At this time, the apparent asymmetry of matter and antimatter in the visible universe is one of the greatest unsolved problems in physics.[2] The process by which this asymmetry between particles and antiparticles developed is called baryogenesis.

Antimatter is said to be the most expensive material to produce.

If that was the case, anyone who has ever undergone a PET scan was blown into pieces lol. But obviously that is not true because during a PET scan, an electron interacts with a positron and this releases a relatively small amount of energy in the form of gamma rays.

That is, actually, a very intense reaction from those two particles - orders of magnitude more powerful than what is normally possible with them.

If you brought half a gram of matter and half a gram of antimatter into contact with each other - you'd put the Hiroshima bomb to shame with how much energy would be released. A whole person's worth would just erase our planet.
