Do you give him reason to be pissed off?
I mean, usually when someone is "superior" to another, they like rubbing it in their faces, however that's being done.
If you don't really do anything like that, then I say you're as innocent as a vestal virgin headed for paradise!

And as for the talk he does about your bad sides and things which could make you look bad: I say don't mind those that take it to heart, because that is the way of the shallow ones.

Then you should find comfort in knowing that you speak the truth, even if it means you'll get a bit lonely.
Try to get friends that don't turn on you the minute you do well on a test, it might help you in the future.
