Hello narutobase,
I have a question that came up last night while talking to an old friend.
I used to be a admin of a private server for a game I will not reveal the name of. I know I did a good job as I became a mod after a month or so and about 6 months after that I became a Admin. I helped come up with fresh new ideas and help shape the forums form the mess it was.
But to be honest I was unaware of some things:
-Didn't know that you SHOULDN'T delete/lock threads when they become dead
-The pros and cons of a chatbox
-how to handle noobs
-the pros/cons of a premium membership
Thanks to NarutoBase I learned alot more than I would have on my own.
But that is not my dilema. My problem is that an old friend of mine is an admin of the site and has asked me to join staff but....
I have my reservations. During the time I left, the Site Owner left on a college trip and left us in charge. We started to fall apart (the game was broken before this; the game was released too early with a lot of bugs) and I just left. He had planned during his return to restart as a new server.
That was back in August/September 2011.
Last night this friend of mine asked me to join them again but...
1. I don't just want to join Auto; I would rather start form scratch as a regular member and prove myself again.
2. I am lazy and find it a daunting task to do it all over again. ~__~
So does anyone have any advice that would help me in this situation? I don't know what to do. SHould I take the job or should I just start from scratch?
Any advice that would help me if I became a moderator? As an admin? (not here; don't confuse)
