so it seems the hidden mist wanted her alive but kakashi killed her so they were going to dispose of her body instead

There was a theory that rin was the 3tails Jinchuriiki or however the **** u spell it
That in the chapter where she died she had bubbles coming out of her like naruto when he has the nine tails cloak
And since the 3 tails had no jinchuriiki it could have been her but i have no idea and i think it has alot of loopholes

how did rin die then if it was all a genjutsu and how else did kakashi awaken his mangekyou sharingan

well this clears up everything... so Rin was a spy or something ... but when she lived with Kakashi and Obito she felt happy and she told Kakashi her secret and he kept it between them... Then when they were surrounded by the mist, she ordered kakashi to kill her to ruin the plan and end up being a hero...the same thing when Nagato killed Yahiko ... it's the only logical solution i can come up with .
