I personally think it was kubo himself

He had years to wrap up the last arc. His pacing was a joke after the first invasion. He wasted tons of chapters on pointless fodder fights. He missed out on so many things. Shonen jump had to endure years of very low bleach sales. They were limiting their profit due to bleach(instead of placing a more successfull series in the magazine which would get better sales) They endured this for a long time and they got fed up. I suspect that they still informed him that the manga MUST end a few months ago. I HIGHLY doubt that a few weeks before the end they suddenly said'You must end in august' Kubo got lost in his own plotpoints and has cornered himself.

Let's use the last chapter 686 as an example. The chapter did not have'to play out the way it did AT ALL. Why was ichigos kid holding that weird juha's reiatsu in the end? Did shonen jump forced him to do that? Did shonen jump forced him to NOT include yoruichi and urahara in the last chapter? Aizen back in prison?Uryu a doctor? IchiHime??!!! Really?!!

Kubo. There were so many ways he could've made that ending better, EVEN being rushed.

He's a good artist but an iffy writer at best.

I would say the blame is mainly on SJ. The thing is when it comes to big mangas like One piece, Naruto and Bleach a lot of things go on behind the scene which we don't know anything about. As fans we see the manga produced by the mangaka so we think he is making all the decisions however a lot of the story decisions are made by SJ. One example is when they forced Kishi to finish at chapter 700, another is on how they wouldn't let him kill off characters as it would seem to "dark".

It was definitely Kubo. Bleach had been losing popularity for several years, going from being in the Top 3 to below the Top 10. And it all happened after the Aizen arc, when the story and artwork took a huge dive and people noticed. Who's fault was this? Kubo's. He noticeably stopped giving it his all.

Obviously WSJ wasn't gonna keep a series that was losing popularity and profit so damn quickly. And he STILL took the cliche and uninspired route for his ending.

Imagine if WSJ gave Oda a deadline and told him he has to end One Piece in a year from now. Would you guys still blame the author or would you blame WSJ for not being considerate of a long lasting manga and just thinking about themselves because of stupid ratings?

You can't blame Kubo just because WSJ decided that Bleach was getting low ratings and wanted other manga to be shown so they gave him a deadline and told him to end it so that other manga can receive more attention.

Kubo's only fault is letting this arc drag out so long. If he wanted to have a successful ending and less complaints then he should have ended off with Aizen and Ichigo fight.

No fullbringers, no Quincies, none of that shit.

The failure of the last two arcs is Kubo's fault while the ultra failure of the last 5 chapters is SJ's fault imo.
