Like if God was a ruler, would he be a monarch or a politician? And would people be happy with his rule? If they weren't would he be a tyrant to them or let them live on their own?

Monarch. He is the supreme leader of all of us (according to the bible). In a normal world, people should be happy because God has the power to change everything for the better and peace. But of course, we are not perfect. The devil, lucifer, was cast out of heaven and detested God for his love of humans. Therefore, it is a good chance some people would hate God's rule.

Well it's in the bible he gave us free will.

Definitely a monarch, if God is here with us, I doubt there will be political misfits, corruption and everything bad you say about the government will not be existing (that's if we have a good and a merciful God). I also doubt there will be Chinese communism or other abusive dictatorial parliaments, all countries will be democratic as everyone was given their free will.

Free will where, if you do not believe in him, he decides you need an eternal hell, which religious concepts describe as some kind of torture chambers. On the other hand, if you choose to believe in him you get all the cookies and even possible *** slaves according to some sects.
